You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner. You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins and let the colours fill your mind.~Jac Vanek
I learned a new word this week. Syzygy (siz-i-jee)--"An alignment of three celestial objects, i.e., the sun, the earth and either a moon or planet." This word intrigued me, and I began to contemplate what its definition might mean for my life.
The first alignment that came to light for me--Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The Trinity. Then I thought about what three principles the Trinity uses to keep me aligned:
1. Kingdom Contemplation: When my thinking is geared to mindsets such as: "I'm safe inside the goodness of God; His peace is my inheritance; My identity is reflected in how God sees me; My future is filled with hope, and my present is joyful and serene; my past is an aggregate of His faithfuness and loyalty," then I am mentally, emotionally and psychologically resilient.
2. Kingdom Responses: I feel best when I'm responding to people and circumstances with attitudes that correspond with the fruit of the spirit. I never really have to guess what might make a helpful or wise response. I choose from the list of the nine fruit. I actually love this practice. This game, if you will. I pray to be more skilled.
3. Abundant Living: The first two concepts yield the third. If my mindsets and responses are in line, then my life is peaceful and joyful. Contentment reigns.
I enjoy how the Holy Spirit works to perform spiritual chiropractic in my life. He uses books that I read, films I watch, music I listen to, people I meet, the dreams I have, and conversations I engage in; the sound of the ocean, the breaths of fresh air that I take, the brightest light and even the darkest corners of my life. I absolutely adore this about Him. He meets me exactly where I am. No shame. No blame. He's not like that.
Last week I was at physical therapy (strengthening my knees), and just one other woman was in the studio with me. As we performed our leg lifts, she introduced herself. "I'm Ms. Lightheart," she said. I replied, "What a beautiful name. Every time someone calls you by name, they have an opportunity to feel better, to lighten their load." She smiled. "I guess I never really thought about it like that."
Let me remember well Kingdom alignment. My heart light.
